Meet the team

We have a dedicated team of over 100 industry professionals with many year experience in their field, this enables us to offer you the best possible advice and support. They are made up of managers, designers, skilled commercial vehicle painters, panel beaters, body builders, crane engineers, tail lift engineers and mechanics.

Our technical staff undergo a 3 year NVQ training scheme combined with constant in house training to keep them up to date with the latest rules and regulations in the industry we work in.

Whether it is working with Effer cranes technical department to provide staff with up to date information on installations, or working with our paint provider PPG to train staff on the latest compliant paints on the market our commitment to training ensures our customers are getting the best service and value when dealing with Martin Williams.

Martin Williams

Managing Director. Martin was the founder of the business in 1990 and remains today the managing director. His main responsibilities are the overall running of the business and he has over 40 years’ experience.

Chris Williams

Director. Chris is responsible for the refurbishing, painting and accident repair side of the business, after completing his apprenticeship as a vehicle paint sprayer he joined his father and brother in the family business in 2000.

Nick Williams

Director. Nick is responsible for the new business sales including Effer truck mounted cranes and the bodybuilding side of the business, upon leaving school he joined his father in the family business on a body repair apprenticeship in 1999.

Jon Cooper

John Cooper

National Sales Manager. Jon is responsible for new sales in both bodybuilding and Effer truck mounted cranes. He has over 25 years experience in the truck and crane industry in both engineering and sales and brings a wealth of experience to Martin Williams. He joined us in January 2015.

Mark Naylor

Operations Manager (Bodyshop and Mechanical). Mark is responsible for the implementation & management of our UK wide accident repair / mechanical network. He has 9 years experience in the industry initially in a sales role, then moving into managing commercial vehicle workshops including a Ford main dealer and joined us in 2007.

Neil Prendergast

Operations Manager (Bodybuild and Paint). Neil is responsible for all planning, production, processes and recruitment. He has 35 years of experience gained in the HGV repair industry, starting out as an apprentice HGV mechanic through to workshop controller and then service manager of a retail HGV workshop, he joined us in August 2014.

Company Accountant. Mark is responsible for the day to day accounts, ensuring our cash flow and profits are in line with expectations and also manages the payroll. He is a key member of our team with over 30 years experience and joined us in December 2013.

Paul Beard

Technical Manager. Paul has over 15 years of technical knowledge in the blue light and custodial sectors, gained whilst working in the SVO division at Vauxhall and then Kinetic Special Vehicles, he joined us in October 2013

Richard Westerby

Bodyshop Manager. Richard manages our bodyshop, he managed his first body shop at the age of 25, before moving on to work as claims engineer for the UK’s largest general insurer for over 20 years and has wealth of experience in accident repairs. He joined us in January 2014.

Purchasing Manager. Graham had over 33 years experience working with leading players in the body build supply industry - James & Bloom, Load Lok & John Adams before joining us in 2009.

Gary Burn

Parts Manager (Bodyshop and Mechanical). Gary is responsible for all parts required for the body repair and mechanical part of the business. He previously worked in parts management at Volvo trucks for over 25 years, before he joined us in 2007.

Terry Sanderson

Homologations. Terry is the main contact for the VCA and has been instrumental in helping the company gain the Type Approvals for the wide range of vehicles we work on, he also ensure the approvals are kept up-to-date. He joined us in May 2012.

James Rammage

Service Advisor. James heads up our service department looking after a range of vehicles 3.5t upwards he oversees the Ministry inspections, MOT's, and servicing of over 500 vehicles per year! He has 10 years experience in the motor trade and joined us in March 2013.

Health and Safety Coordinator. Steph is responsible for all site health and safety and joined us in November 2015.

Matthew Durham

Bodybuilder Parts and Sales. Matthew heads up our new parts department, he has over 12 years experience in the parts industry working for  main dealers and a national parts supply company. He joined us in April 2015.
