History

Today the company is still run by all the founding members of the Williams family, Martin, Nick and Chris!

We have listed below our key achievements over the years

2015 The company reached its 25th anniversary a real milestone and sense of achievement. It launched a new website and took over the Effer Cranes franchise as the sole UK distributor for Truck Mounted Cranes. Martin, who set out 25 years ago to please a few customers and employ a minimum number of staff, now employs over 100 people across 2 companies!

2014 The installation of 2 of the largest spray booths in Europe finalises the largest expansion in the company’s history! Later in the year the company wins the coveted Commercial Vehicle Bodyshop of the year Award for the first time a fantastic and well deserved achievement by the entire team.

2013 Plans were submitted and the Williams were successful in their application to create a mirror image of the existing factory doubling in size and creating 52000sq ft. of workshop space. This then gave the opportunity to have 4 separate divisions for Repair, Build, and Paint & Maintenance. Also in the same year the Williams family take over a local manufacturing company (Renacraft) who they already have a close working relationship with. Renacraft specialise in offshore, oil & gas analyser house manufacturing. This acquisition further strengthening the company’s ability to mass produce vehicle bodies and work closely in the design of its pre made parts.

2012 The purchase of the additional land now completed it was time to redevelop and turn it into secure hard standing, by the end of this year it became apparent this would still not be enough! Ideas started to be thrown around for another factory expansion!

2011 The company was now running out of space in its 2 acre site and the decision was made to approach a local land owner to buy 3 acres of adjacent land.

2010 Working through the worst recession Britain has had in decades Martin and his 2 sons manage to steer the company through tough times, creating more jobs and increasing year on year profits. Nicks wife Emma also joined the company in the accounts department.

2008 As expected the move proves to be a success and with Nick Williams creating the continued expansion of the bodybuilding business the move is made to expand the new site with a purpose built building with overhead crane adjacent to the existing workshop.

2005 Martin and his 2 sons decide to expand the company into the commercial body building sector after taking on local skilled coach builders the company would soon extend its quality and skill into the bodybuilding industry.

2003 Due to the continued expansion of the company Martin decides to bring Nick and Chris into the shared ownership of the business making them both company Directors at an early age. The business was incorporated into a limited company; this would prove to be a shrewd move by Martin ensuring his 2 sons develop the same vision he has had for the business over the years.

1998 In its 8th year Martin Williams grows further now working for all local main dealers and in the commercial sector the company is working for many insurance companies as well!

1995 The expansion continues and some commercial customers start to use the company so the decision is made to buy the companies first purpose built workshop on the same industrial estate as the existing site.

1990 Martin Williams leaves his job of 26 years to set up a small accident repair centre, better himself and provide a more secure future for his family. The business was set up in Hull and at the start only consisted of Martin and his wife Trish.
